I know exactly where you’re coming from.
I’m an autistic accountant, so I’ve lists. I have comparison lists in Excel for features I would need/like/want and the cars that I feel might fit those needs. That list originally wasn’t very long as most cars that were even remotely suitable weren’t on the scheme but that changed for the better (or worse if you’re indecisive).
So, I’d start with recognising what I’d want, what is an absolute essential must have and what might make a difference in deciding between one and another. Then pick cars that match and start to whittle them down. Once the list is not huge, start going around the dealerships, see what dealerships and cars you like (remember you will have to deal with the dealership throughout the time you have the car). Then you have a list of cars you want to test drive. Hopefully that will get you down to one or two and after that you can be as pedantic as you like to cut it to one.
