Mpg has been very surprising! Getting upto 45 mpg on the motorway and about 39 in stop/start traffic in Manchester. Getting around 400 miles from a tank
Like you, I didn’t choose our car (BMW X1 20i xDrive XLine) for cheap running costs. That was fairly low down on the list of priorities tbh after driver enjoyment, handling, refinement and infotainment etc. However, when the car also turns in much better mpg than you expected it’s an undoubted bonus. Our petrol X1 delivers around 4-5 mpg better economy than our previous diesel Tiguan (also 2.0 litre 4WD) and whereas driving the Tiguan was ‘functional’ driving the BMW is enjoyable. I’m pleased that your car is giving you pleasure. That’s very important these days.
