Its a RIP OFF Asked about my 1.7 DCi XTrail Tekna FWD Manual 7 seater. RRP (4 years ago) £33,000 AP (4 years ago) £1,700 Good condition – Mileage 8,500 MB want £23,000 take it or leave it!!! Ridiculous.

Maybe, but do not overlook the fact that Motability Operations do not want to sell your vehicle to you.

They want you to take out a brand new (and profitable) lease contract with them and not lose you as a (profitable) customer.

Hence, they will do absolutely no favours in selling you your vehicle – in fact the opposite will apply in that they will make you buying your vehicle a totally unattractive proposition (as they have seemingly done).

They would rather sell your vehicle for less elsewhere, so you remain on the scheme.

Some might call it a good business retention strategy!

Heavens, they are now throwing in a £750 bung to keep your custom (the New Vehicle Payment) which shows how much they want to retain you (or just how profitable you are to them by remaining on the scheme).
