Marc, reading your post again, I suspect your aerial is pointing the wrong way. Getting a better signal when it’s raining suggests you might be getting a signal reflected off a wet surface somewhere. Getting a good signal from Ireland off the side suggests it too. Hopefully that’s all it is.
