    For me it would be a diesel if I had the choice.

    Really? Even with the 25p a litre price premium? We switched from diesel to petrol last time at Mrs Glos Guys insistence. Something about the environment ? . Whilst I don’t like to admit when she’s right, it’s been a godsend. As well as the price difference, our 2.0i petrol BMW deliver 5mpg better fuel economy than our previous VW diesel, so we’ve had a double win – better range and cheaper to refuel.

    Current car Hyundai Tuscon 1.6 tdgi

    I currently getting at best 29mpg local @£6.46 gallon = 22p/pm

    On a run I get at best 40mpg @6.46 gallon =16p/pm

    My last car Skoda Superb 190tdi

    local 42mpg @£7.53 gallon =17.9p/pm

    On a run at least 55mpg  =13p/pm
