I have had tyres replaced a bit early. I talked to Motability about my safety concerns and felt I couldn’t use the car unless the tyres were replaced.
I have never asked about different brands or genre of tyre though. It would make sense that those living north of the border to have all season or winter tyres as required. I would speak to Motability and say that you don’t feel safe with summer tyres. No harm in shaking the tree . . .
