@stuar I assume your Tig was the 2.0 Tsi. Exactly because of the hesitation issue we chose the 2.0Tdi in 2018 althoug we would have preferred the smoothness of the petrol. We were in the same situation as you and indeed Gilders in just missing out on the Sportage hybrid so went for the MHEV and now have the quandary of whether to cancel or not because of the GPF issue, not helped by hearing that the lowish 148bhp along with the extra mechanical losses and weight of the AWD make themselves felt at higher speeds. We did wonder but there were no MHEV demos available at the time and all the tests were of the HEV. Incidentally, checked with our dealer yesterday who says they have had no GPF isssues with the cars they have supplied (not yet anyway) but of course the vast majority of models are HEVs. Oh dear, don’t know what to do. All I know is that there is nothing else out there on the scheme we fancy and the VW dealer admitted yesterday that he doesn’t think the Tiguan will be back on the scheme at least for the first half o next year.
