I welcome all the safe driving aids I have encountered so far – BUT – I am conscious of the fact that driving is a perishable skill – so still use wing mirrors etc when reversing all the usual stuff – aids are useful and an extra layer of protection that aid – not do and take over.
Smart cruise control lane assist ?.
Certainly helps my legs on long journeys
Speed limiter ? definitely helps in low speed areas – especially if you are unfamiliar and looking for directions.
Sign recognition ? – useful when you have missed it – especially with over grown vegetation.
Reversing camera ? – useful for the last few feet.
Cross traffic warning when reversing ? – my neck doesn’t swivel like it used to.
There are others – especially EV related but I have just listed the ones that I find I use most.
