They are predicting £5500 for energy per year that works out to £458.33 per month or £105.77 per week. Now they are predicting £6,000 £500 per month or £115 38 per week ? I am am on a Octopus Go fixed tariff until March 2023 5p off peak/normal 13.72p and 25p/day and a flexible tariff for gas 7.36 and 27.22/day At present I use 3900 kWh, approximately 1100 kWh is used to charge the PHEV, the remaining 2800 kWh domestic use. Gas I am using just over 10,000 kWh, however I have turned down the setting on the combi boiler hopefully this may help a little
Just been through my old Octopus bills for 2021
Total for January 21 12 month period electric usage 3930.7kWh, however I did not realise I used 1595.1 kWh just charging up the PHEV at 5 pence a kWh, domestic usage 2335.6kWh
The 7th March 2022 we fitted a 4.4kW solar system to date we have generated over 3100kWh unfortunately the majority going back to the grid for 4.1 p kWh, I haven’t checked my 2022 reading however I am paying at present £110 per month and are £669 in credit, hopefully when the battery bank is fitted the end of September this should help keep the bills at bay.
I have carried out a spreadsheet estimate using Octopus Agile 70p kWh import and 35p kWh outgoing plus 50p day estimate £613.01/£51.08 month and gas at 20p kWh 10,000kWh 27p day £2088.00/£174.00 month.
Estimate for electric and gas £2701 or £225 per month, hopefully this should soften the blow a bit.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
