Yesterday I gave back our motability Ateca, and because I was going private, I had a 300 mile drive to Blackburn. I had 45 miles in the 1.5tsi Ateca tank before I left and put in £50 in petrol giving me 280 miles at that moment. When I reached my destination 296 miles later I had 45 miles left meaning a £50 cost at 45mpg all motorway! Driving back in the car we have privately purchased I put £50 diesel into an empty tank and arrived home 300 miles later (with a banging headache) and 160 miles left in the tank. Over 60mpg in a 2.2tdi mazda3. Safe to say I am well chuffed with that.
