There’s also a national shortage of hire cars too. Europcar were unable to source me anyyhjng for 3 days & even then only offered me a 3 door manual & I would have to get a taxi 30 miles to collect it.
Luckily I got a courtesy car still a manual but only 5 miles to collect.
Motability can also set you up a taxi account so they’ll fund taxis for you. I had one & they sent a taxi 30 miles to pick me up to take me 5 miles cost motability £52.44 to take me that 5 miles.
They can also arrange a daily payment for loss of use.
And of course there’s a hire car too.
I really hope you get sorted don’t take any BS from motability & if you don’t feel supported fill in the complaint form as then your case appears to get handled by people who seem a bit more shall we say attentive as I don’t want to be rude to anyone.
