James i have solar panels but i dont have a smart meter yet. Ianfca absolutely, our journey type was always a problem with our other car especially as we have a 1 in 10 hill we must climb for 50% of our journeys. Oscarmax your figures are way more impressive than mine you must be saving a shed load of money. Its strange how much more enjoyable it is driving this car, on our last XC40 the brakes were a problem, they were a bit “lumpy” whereas with this car they are far more smooth. Driving in electric mode is great, no real noise and no gear shift, just smooooooth driving. I use a granny charger and i have no intention in getting a wall charger, even when i go full BEV, until V2G wall chargers are available. Doing the short journeys we do i see no need for a wall charger to be honest.
The old guy across the road from is really switched on, he used to work all around the world installing generating system to the military and oil companies.
I was was discussing V2G wall chargers and battery banks, as like you I was very interested. Apparently the V2G system is not going very well in America were they use a lot of off grid systems apparently the vehicles batteries discharge is causing some problems, and owners are going back to battery bank systems.
Not sure to whether that include Tesla and Nissan battery systems ?
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
