Got in touch with them yesterday to get a date and was advised they have cancelled my order as the Rav 4 is no longer on the scheme.
This is, to put it in french, bullshit.
Your order was placed when it was still available, it doesn’t matter if it gets taken off the scheme. I’m not sure why Motability isn’t stepping in there – they can’t just cancel your order for no reason (and as mentioned, being removed from the scheme after order isn’t a reason).
I’d actually go to the dealership in person and make some noise – potentially even seek legal advise. Not that it would be particularly worth it, but just to show assholes (another french one) like your dealership that as a customer, you certainly have rights.
I’d call Motability again and make it clear that they cancelled your existing order with the explanation that the order was placed prior to the car being removed.
We have a car on order that’s not on the scheme anymore, that isn’t being cancelled either (Golf GTE).
