Back when Opel made proper cars, like the Omega. Or even better, before that, with the Admiral, Kapitän and Diplomat. The Diplomat V8 Coupe is a gorgeous car even by todays standards.
What about the Opel Monza GSE? That was a nice car, heavy and yet powerful with its 6 cylinder engine. My father had one in gun metal grey and my brother had one in maroon and one in white though none of those were the 24 valve versions. My brother still has an Opel Manta MK1.
