I think a mild hybrid doesnt really do much other than top up the 12v system. a full hybrid will gain you miles, and a phev can let you basically drive in electic only for a stated mileage which can be more than enough for most folks daily usage a lot of time.
an EV will of course save most if your doing more miles, and are usually cheaper than phevs.
