If people are going to contact Motability or complain, I feel that it is far better to state how the limitations of the scheme are affecting them than to ask a hypothetical question that they cannot or will not answer.
Most people considering joining the scheme would not bat an eyelid at a choice approaching 1,000 cars and wonder what the fuss was about. It’s mostly those who are already in the scheme and experiencing severe problems in trying to find a suitable replacement car who are really struggling with the fact that most cars are now too small for those who need to cart around mobility aids etc.
To highlight that these problems didn’t exist at all when there were 4,000 cars to choose from and was not as much of a problem even when that had halved to 2,000 cars is, IMO, far more relevant as are the comments made by others that the scheme no longer seems to cater for those whom it was set up to help!
