    When you get a quote to buy from motorbility after your lease,they wont budge on what they want .I offered £2k less than wanted and refused,it went to auction and they got £1600 less than my offer.Recently was told they prefer to goto auction than sell to us , because if they do sell to us thats a loss of a new lease customer. .

    Spot on. I always ask for a price at the end of each lease out of curiosity and it’s always a few grand more than the car is worth. People who are tempted to buy ‘because they know the car’ often forget that the price being asked by dealers is always negotiable and furthermore it will come with a warranty – unlike any car you buy from Motability. As with financial products, it’s fair to say with cars that ‘past performance is no guarantee of future success’. As with white goods, it’s often as though manufacturers programme faults to occur during the year after the warranty ends!
