To get the Octopus Go tariff you will need to either already have a SMETS2 smart meter or have Octopus fit one for you. It takes a good two weeks for them to get the changeover done from the tariff you originally signed up with. This is supposed to be due to the time it takes for them to reliably receive half hourly readings
