I was ordering a tiggy r-line and dealer said if your not bothered by colour we have a white one in port and ill throw in the side assist and headlight washers that are extra for 100 on top if your interested, I signed the paper work there on friday and picked up on weds following week..

No doubt that’s a great deal but it sounds like a cancelled order. You can’t ‘throw in’ extras on a car that’s already delivered. Dealer probably got your extra £100 plus something else for fixing a deal that had fallen through for whatever reason. Not criticising, I’d have probably signed up likewise if I was in the same spot but was it really such a great deal in the end?

If the original poster on the thread has their friend’s experience spot-on then VW have a case to answer – or, at least, the dealer does. A sale is a sale. If a Motability sale doesn’t have the same benefits to the dealer as a normal sale then the dealer needs to understand the basics of how a marketplace works: selling something is always better than selling nothing. And a Motability customer is far more likely to be repeat trade than many other types of customer.

So – not only is the dealer potentially being discriminatory, they’re also asking to be labelled as stupid.
