Bmw told me on Wednesday that they were expecting my x1 to come into country week of 28th july dealership is going to update me every 2 weeks will see if they do
I sincerely hope that proves to be correct Shellie, but I suspect that the dealer is giving you an estimate based upon how long it’s been taking for previously ordered X1’s to arrive. No dealer can give you a precise week this far in advance of it, as production weeks aren’t scheduled until much closer to the time and they can (and do) change. It may be that they have had a cancelled order which was further along the line that they have been able to substitute for your order, in which case you have been lucky.
A few posts back you will see that I posted all the codes for the various stages of BMW orders. I strongly suggest that you call BMW Customer Services (not the dealer) and give them your order number and ask them what code status is currently showing against your order. If your order has moved beyond 077 then the date the dealer has given you may well be fairly close to the mark. If, however, you are still at status 077 then the info in my last post will apply and your order is unlikely to even be allocated a provisional build slot until May.
There is a remote possibility that a delay may prove to be advantageous, as the model year changes take effect in the summer, so we could end up with 2022 models. The all new X1 is due out in 2022 but as it hasn’t been announced yet we won’t end up with that (unfortunately) but may end up with some extra kit as standard, although as the current X1 is effectively a run-out model they could equally make no changes at all. Time will tell. I ordered before you and am telling myself that delivery before September is highly unlikely.
