Maybe what Motability needs to do is look at doing leases over 3 or 5 years (and reducing the AP for 5 year leases), the higher AP’s even over 3 years are easily recovered by the reduced fuel costs for high mileage drivers, and lower mileage drivers would also recover the costs easily over 5 years.

I currently drive a 51mpg Diesel and do the 20k a year, I worked out that I’d save around £1500 a year going EV, one thing for certain, I can’t afford to drive a petrol engine unless it’s a full Hybrid, at least they get close to or even better diesel MPG.

Think that the next 5 years is going to be very interesting with regards Motability and EV’s, I’m committed now to going green, and ideally EV, and my lease runs out the first week of April, I might leave the scheme for a while and just get a runaround diesel and wait for the e-Niro, Skoda Enyaq, Nissan Ariya, New Qashqai, Volvo’s etc to come on the scheme at a sensible price.
