My avionics/radar/ radio instructor had worked on the TSR2 developing Forward looking terrain following radar. Technology that was world leading in the 60s. 50 years on, autonomous cars have elements of their work. Not only did Wilson’s Labour Party scrap a potential world beater, but disbanded the engineering teams and destroyed blueprints. Political vandalism. Now we are at the mercy of an economy that is 80% services. I used to drive past Honda Swindon and see all those transporters ferrying cars built on double shifts. Soon to be an empty shell. My 2005 CRV was a very well made car.
