Today’s figures show that in excess of 27,000 new cases of Covid 19 were reported in last 24hrs. There were 174 deaths. This is rapidly climbing back to the height of the UK pandemic earlier this year. Yet the government advice for the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) continues to say that shielding is not necessary and rules can be relaxed. CEV people can, for example, go out to work and visit businesses, such as supermarkets, pubs and shops.
My wife is classified as CEV and wth over 27k cases and 174 deaths in 24hrs, we will continue shielding. Damn stupid not to. I think the government is being criminally incompetent. If it was a private company it could be prosecuted for manslaughter by incompetence. Other opinions welcome…
