Why aren’t they ideal for the hospital trips…. you towing a trailer or carry heavy loads?
I find small cars (corsa, ka, vw up etc) not great on motorways because they always feel too lightweight and skittery to me, something a bit bigger (honda civic, seat leon, vw golf) feels a bit more stable at speed…. but they are all capable of traveling at 70mph for hours on end
