As someone kicked off the scheme by Capita and who has a PCP I can wholeheartedly say that Motability is far better and cheaper than any PCP.
My monthly costs are £280 for the car, £50 insurance, £30 extended warranty. Then there’s been servicing costs, new tyres, brake pads etc. Then on top of all that I’ll probably have to pay for a couple of scuffed alloys and any paintwork that they deem is not fair wear and tear when I hand the car back.
My PCP is not over until April next year, as I have made more than enough payments and can Voluntarily Terminate any time my local BMW dealership will take the car back with no additional costs if I get a new BMW on Motability. It’s a great deal,as from experience with my daughter’s car they can charge a fair old bit at the end. My heart is set on a plugin but if I’m going to have to pay upwards of £500 at the end of my PCP I’ll just have to get another BMW, it’s not a bad choice ?
