Copy of an email just received by me & a bunch of friends, from the local Dentist , OTT OR NOT. – I wonder?

I have to say it’s all rather worrying and an absolute first in our lifetime and interesting how people react in different ways.

I went out to dinner with 5 others on Friday, wore gloves, for which I was mocked and even wore them to eat. But the difficult thing was not touching my face which is such a natural thing to do, but I have to say the wearing of gloves partly discourages it.

I don’t think so far the powers that be have quite got the message across.

Washing hands is essential when you are anywhere near contamination, ie outside your home. ( One has to assume that your home is not infected otherwise one’s doomed ! )

But having washed your hands with soap for a full 20 minutes ( and all reports seem to forget the underneath of our nails) then DO NOT TOUCH YOU FACE after washing your hands.

These horrible little bugs Covid-19 can only get into our bodies through our eyes, nose or mouth so don’t push your glasses up, don’t flick a bit of hair from your eye, don’t scratch that itch. DON’T !

    Lets consider shopping.

I personally wear gloves in the shop and assume my hands are clean inside the glove.

When you get to the checkout, how do you pay????

Your gloves by now are contaminated by the things you’ve touched in the shop.

So you could make a run for it but that’s a bit risky especially if like me you can’t run
    OR
    take your glove off

reach inside your pocket ( having placed your phone in the correct pocket before you left home )mk

pay for your groceries with your phone and replace it in your pocket and put your glove on again ( your phone didn’t touch anything, contact pay means 2 cm but not touching) also taking your glove off and back on takes a bit of thought and practice but it’s doable….and important.

When you get home how you unpack your contaminated packets is tricky but doable.

Throw away the wrappings, ie the parts of your purchase that have been touched by anyone.

In theory back in the safety of your home you can now touch anything.

All this is better than staying in your home for 4 + months.

Oh! Keep your distance from people when you are out and about and especially in the shop.

I’m sorry to labour the point but the hand washing message I feel it not sufficiently thorough.

You by now probably think I’m bonkers.
