    @colin I think this is essentially what the guy at motability was trying to imply and I can only hope that will be the case. I visit my mum practically every day and given her health condition will unfortunatley deteriorate unless a cure is found this time will likely increase. It’s just a few stories I read online seemed to make out they were ringing often and for silly reasons. It would be frustrating having to keep explaining ourselves.

    If I could move away and start over after uni and have my mums health and independence back I’d ride a bike for the rest of my life lol. People seem to always assume in these scenarios because you have a car everything is great and you are taking the mick. The same goes for people on benefits in general.

    I can only speak for myself but I can assure you I’d swap my mums car and everything I have to change my life to the average young guys with none of these responsibilities. I’d end up with a much better car that would be actually mine by getting a fulltime job after uni.

    Time will tell with it all I suppose.

    @lordmuc
    you’re right about the 5 mile thing. I live just over 6 miles away I think and they were fine with it but I think if it starts getting ridiculous it’s a no go which is fair enough.

    I’m certainly not the bragging type and to be honest I’d be rather embarrassed in attempting to brag about a mobility car, most importantly because it isn’t me with the disability. It sounds scummy. I really think it often boils down to people for some reason being jealous or frustrated. My mum even picked the new car out online after I explained the details and differences to her.

    Thanks again.
