Rhodgie, you make your case for your driving pattern well enough, but other people have other needs. A few years back we had to drive to Geneva in a hurry (family emergency) and drove there from London non-stop except for toilet breaks in 10 hours (two drivers). We then had to go from there to Turin, similar situation, and return home from there (one refuelling stop). That was in a diesel Golf. Just to say it would have been impossible in an EV as sold today.
