martino,
It is also worth checking out the Hyundai Tucson.
Hyundai and Kia are sister companies and the Sportage and Tucson share the same C/B SUV segment. They also share a lot parts/switchgear etc.
Depending on the configuration of kit that you need/want it is worth comparing the two back to back and see which fits the bill the best bearing in mind the differing Advance Payments. Other than that it is really down to which styling you prefer.
Neither are bad cars, infact I would say both are pretty good.

November 1, 2019 at 5:43 am #94618I test drove the old one and thought it was a good motor, it only narrowly missed out to a Hyundai IX35 at the time, but we would happily have had it.
We’ve looked at the current model and I think it has a lot going for it. A manufacturer that puts a 7 year warranty on a product has confidence in it for sure.
Where I think it falls down is in the interior, as I think it has a long way to go to rival the likes of a Mazda CX5 for instance, but if you like function over fashion everything is there. My wife can’t take to the styling of it so we likely won’t have one but I personally do like it and think the GT Line looks great in Lunar Silver …

November 1, 2019 at 9:18 am #94651This was our first car on the scheme and we were ‘blown away’ with it. The latest offering GT line S has absolutely everything you could wish for and if you can stomach the AP then it is the best on the scheme IMHO.
The ONLY reason we did not stick with it is the roofline/door opening is about an inch too low resulting in me scraping the top of my head on numerous occasions when exiting the vehicle 🙁
Other than that I cannot fault it and in those 3 years it performed flawlessly.
November 2, 2019 at 7:35 pm #94858This is the What Car reliability index for the Sportage & similar cars –
https://www.whatcar.com/news/2019-what-car-reliability-survey-family-suvs/n20064
If it’s a good or bad car for you is another matter of course & a good look around & a test drive may help to make your mind up.
