      Hi Guys

I would like to congratulate Francesco Molinari on winning the British golf Open Championship from Carnoustie yesterday (Sunday 22nd July).

What a wonderful weekend of sport watching the British Open Golf Championship, imo the best sport of the weekend.

          Hi Trev

That’s if you are a Tiger fan which I am not. I am of the opinion that when he was wining everything, he was on some form of induced assistance, and since he has stopped that, everything went downhill for him.

He did try this weekend but when it mattered he failed towards the end of his last round, whereas Molinari just did what he needed to do to win it. Well worth watching  all  day yesterday.

So pleased for Frankie, the highlight of the weekend for me was watching the way Justin Rose fought to keep playing, making birdie on the 36th hole to make the cut, then coming so close to winning, when you think that he missed 21 cuts in a row when he first turned pro, what a wonderful Champion he has become an example for all other golfers that you can be a Gentleman and a competitor at the same time. As for Tiger – I cheered when he made made double bogey, he may be a great golfer but as a man, no thank you, there is more to being a great golfer than winning titles.

I don’t watch a lot of golf at all, but i do remember seeing Justin Rose’s Open debut and that chip at the 18th back in 1998.

Found the clip here, wow, just 17 at the time..

                Hi wmcforum

Absolutely agree,  Justin Rose was almost missing the cut on Friday, and then that birdie on the 18th which let him in and stay for the weekend, then that wonderful round on Saturday and Sunday, shame he could not have made a couple more to be in a winning position.

You were not the only one that cheered when T made his double bogey, I have no doubt there were lots of other golf fans doing the same.

The Open. Peter Alliss would not approve of the “british Open!”
