I have recently had a very slow puncture on my Honda, passengers side rear, 2800 miles on the clock. I visited Kwik fit for advice. They took the car into a bay while I waited. After about 15 minutes the fitter came out and said all fixed. There had been no other conversations in between. I asked was it a repair, he said no, the puncture was too near the edge of the tread, so he fitted a new tyre. Michelin, I asked, to match the others, no he said Continental. Now, the Motability website advises Kwik fit may fit tyres of a different make, but the same specification, they seem to leave it to Kwik fit to decide. Had I have been given a choice I would have waited until a matching Michelin was available. So my question is will this be ok for me to drive safely?

Yes it will be perfectly safe. With a lease car you can’t always pick and choose. Motability will sometimes authorise exactly the same tyre if requested (and it falls within an acceptable price range), otherwise a different make will be fitted, but it will always be one that is safe to run on your vehicle with the remaining tyres.
