Seeing as the original thread has disappeared, and it contained some very useful information on the problems with the delivery of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, I thought I was start another with an update I’ve just had from my dealer.
I ordered in June, a RWD Ioniq 5 Ultimate with Tech Pack.
My dealer just confirmed that I’ll be getting a MY25 with Tech pack, but will NOT be getting the relaxation and memory seats. I’m fine with this, others may not be. If I wanted those extras, I would have to be cancel and reorder (and pay the current AP)..
He also looked to see what cars are available ‘at the docks’, and even though I would be free to change colour (apparently Motability only know the model, they dont care about the colour on their system), there were only RWD with Vision roofs available, nothing with just a Tech Pack.
He then checked the progress of my actual order, which is due in build on the 7th November, which would mean delivery in the UK in early January.
A brand new order today would be looking at June for delivery.
Hope that’s useful.

That would tie in with what my dealer said for my AWD order. No memory seats etc. with a build start 5th November and delivery end of Jan.
Just need to see what stock there is for AWD ultimate with tech and colours. In the hope of an earlier delivery
Otherwise I will keep original order.

It may be worth phoning your dealer, as mine was looking at the live ‘availability’ screen as he was talking to me. He did say that there’s a few AWD available, but of course that’s not relevant to me (and I’m afraid I don’t know what variant or what packs etc they had).
October 25, 2024 at 11:58 am #292318My dealer said something similar but Hyundai customer service said mine is built and Hyundai tracking website says it is at sea and has a VIN mapped to it. Dealer says he cant see it, and suggesting Feb. I also ordered in June, a RWD Ultimate with Tech Pack
October 25, 2024 at 2:38 pm #292326Just spoke with Hyundai customer experience team. Regarding my order ultimate with tech pack. And the missing memory seats.
Was advised that they can not do anything. It has come from motabilty, I suggested upgrading to the N Line S. Which has these and is on the scheme. Unlike the teck pack max.
So do I approach them again, and see if they will upgrade my order to this, and claim back the difference in the AP, which is how these differences in AP are being dealt with.
Or do I just, forget it and move on. Need to decide, as my order is due for production in 5th November.
Will be seeing my dealer again on Saturday, to confirm my order details.
October 30, 2024 at 12:19 am #292563So folks, since my original thread has disappeared, I have still heard nothing, no updates, no cancellation, no nothing. Ultimate AWD with tech pack ordered 17th of April, my dealer has yet to contact me off their own initiative, if I ring to ask for an update they do usually ring back to say they don’t know what’s happening.
well done to those who have had a solution

Thats is totally out of order. I don’t know why they are not being up front with you and tell you the current state of your order. Have they even ordered it. They must be able to show you on their system your order.
After speaking with all concerned, motability/Hyundai and getting no where, I have given up trying to upgrade the pack to tech pack max, and pay the difference. All they said was if it is not on the scheme you can’t have it.
My dealer has been really good with my order, and has informed me that the car will be built by the 5th November with an expected delivery to the UK, by the end of January.
i have asked, that given the wait so far, can I collect it on 1st March, to which he has agreed to.
i ordered the ultimate AWD with tech pack, and grey interior in June.
i suggest you visit your dealer, and ask him to prove that they have ordered your car. If they are not willing to help you, then maybe contact the senior manager of the dealerships, not the manager where you ordered the car from. You need to speak with someone in authority, hence the Boss of all the franchises.
our dealer is part of the motorvouge group.
Hope you get this sorted.
November 12, 2024 at 9:05 pm #293184Hi all. Has anyone go their car yet and if so can you share images of the new car, I am interested in seeing the RWD ultimate with tech pack because this is what I ordered.
I am due to get my car in December, date unknown but I have a VIN.
November 23, 2024 at 3:54 pm #293870Just had my dealer call, car is on its way here, should arrive UK mid December, delivery to me around Christmas.
Confirmed its an Ultimate AWD with Tech Pack in my Digital Teal/Light Grey interior choice. So, as already seen on here, lost the driver seat memory and comfort seats, memory seat not a huge deal as I’m the only driver.
Await delivery, big xmas present.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

when did you place your order? Ordered the same but with lucid blue in June.
dealer told me that it would be built by the 5th November, with an expected delivery date end of January
November 24, 2024 at 12:37 am #293909Ordered mid May, so kind of tallies with the dates you have been given.

November 26, 2024 at 1:26 pm #294037I spoke with my dealer last week. He went away and did some checking, including checking if he could pull from stock. My car is due for build and shipping this month. It is expected to be in UK customs on 18th Jan. Then, it will take approximately 2 weeks to clear customs and be ready for delivery, so I’m looking at the end of Jan.
Trying to pay the extra uplift for the relaxation seats, would lead to paying the full new AP, likewise trying to swap the order for something earlier would be the same, so we decided to wait.
November 27, 2024 at 9:35 am #294098We had a bit of a nightmare with the original Hyundai dealer, so we had to escalate it with Hyundai/Motability. And now after ordering on 11th May we got the news our MY25 Ioniq 5 AWD Ultimate Tech was ready for collection this week.
All of you who are waiting will be impressed when yours arrives – the tech is mind blowing, it just about drives itself (follows the car in front, steers round corners and even changes lanes with a flick of the indicator).
December 1, 2024 at 5:46 pm #294353Hyundai tracking website says my car is in port 🙂 Not sure how long it takes to get to the retailer and for delivery?
On a funny note, the ship I was tracking (thought was transporting my car) for more than a month now is still somewhere near Senegal\Gambia :). I was tracking the wrong ship
December 2, 2024 at 9:48 pm #294432hi all,
So, as an update to this, I ordered an ultimate AWD with tech on 17 th of April, with the messing with the changeover to the new model and AWD being discontinued we were kind of out of the loop and nobody knew what was happening in my dealership.
I am happy to report that I got a call from the dealer last week and my new model Ioniq 5 AWD with tech pack should be with us in February.Yes I am missing a few things off the original spec, the most annoying of theses are the front memory seats as my wife struggles with mobility and the rear electric seats as my daughter also struggles with her movements and posture, we will see how things go and hopefully it is not a major issue. Just glad to see light at the end of the tunnel.
thanks everyone for your support both on this thread and the original one I had started.
December 3, 2024 at 12:50 pm #294450My order has now been confirmed and is shown in my motabilty account with the correct AP.
Ultimate AWD with tech pack.
Gave up trying to get the memory seats. Added as an extra pack, or included in order.
Although a bit disappointed that these are missing with the refresh, and not in my original order. But happy with the my25 extras. When compared with my24
Dealer expects delivery sometime in January. But am willing to wait, maybe put it off until new plate in match
It was been a long journey, but we got there in the end.
Ordered end of June
Now ordering extras ready for it. Something others might be interested in is a key fob cover. As the original key fob feels light and cheap
Take a look at AliExpress. Just brought 2 could not make my mind up which one I wanted. They are made in china and are very cheap. Delivery was within a week.
December 3, 2024 at 12:57 pm #294451I got a key cover from Amazon for quickness – but I’ll try AliExpress for another. The oval shape and the design of the key is decent, I like how the boot button and remote park buttons are round on the edge of the key
December 3, 2024 at 3:51 pm #294463@PS was your car on the isar highway and not the morning cecilie?
I think mine is on the MC due to Tilbury l no on the 9th
Can you let me know how long from dock to dealer works out when that happens?
December 3, 2024 at 8:12 pm #294477I just had an update from my dealer. My car was put onto the ship on the 28/11 and will on the seas until the 2nd Jan. (thats a long time!)
He did also attach a useful image. What on earth is the car doing in the ‘workshop’ for two weeks!?
It’ll be at the dealers from the 2nd Feb, so my hand controls will have to be booked etc. I think I’ll ask him to hold on to it until the 1st March so I get the new numberplate. My current car (BMW) dealer recommended I do that that last, and I waited an extra month for it, but that’s fine.
WIll give me time to get over my shoulder injury. Good stuff!

The status has again changed saying it is on way to retailer. But I’m not sure when the car landed in Tilbury. looks like isar highway just docked today so unlikely to be it
December 4, 2024 at 4:20 pm #294544Ok thanks for that
Hope yours gets to the dealer asap!
January 13, 2025 at 5:39 pm #296174I see the chat has been quiet for some time, as people have been getting deliveries or confirmation of them, however, has anybody been getting mixed messages from their dealer?
Mine told me it was on a ship and should arrive in Dec touch and go for a pre-Christmas delivery I tracked the vessel and saw the delays. He then updates me and turns out it was not on that ship. so I have been tracking the ships as they dock into Tilbury, there have been 2 more since and one is waiting to dock. The last update from my dealer was it was waiting for ECM . I call up to date and the notability rep wasn’t in so I asked the guy in sales who answered if he could look up a status….. wait for it… “It’s in transit and waiting to Dock”. not at all happy with the lack of clarity from the dealer.
January 13, 2025 at 6:07 pm #296177Can I ask when you ordered? , I’m hoping to order one next month
January 13, 2025 at 7:35 pm #296181I talked to a dealer today and they reckoned delivery of an Ioniq 5 N Line would be available in Feb as long as it was black or ecotronic grey but red would be chargeable? Undecided between this and a new facelift Enyaq 85X
January 13, 2025 at 7:53 pm #296182Finally picked up mine on the 20th December which made a great Xmas present. With the dealer discounts, new car payment and good condition bonus I basically came out 50 quid up!
My first EV, it’s an awesome car, loving the drive, the tech and that it’s costing me pennies to run. It’s a good feeling driving past petrol stations and not looking at the prices 🤣
Timeline for mine in case anyone’s interested (although may be a bit skewed as it was ordered just as they released the new my25 model)
Ordered – 25 June
At sea – 3/4 November
Docked at port – 13th December
On way to retailer – 17th December
At retailer – 19th December
Picked up – 20th December
