The new Ionic 5 has ben released on the UK Hyundai site. New models but similar specs depending upon the additional packs. Looks like the Namsan is now an Ultimate with the Tech Pack Max with Vision Roof.

Yay!
This is good news for me – went to see my dealer today and the car they had for me was sold, so they have ordered a new one. They told me it may well be an MY25 😊

Current Car Ioniq 5 MY24 77KWh RWD
Previous Cars: Kona Electric 2021 UK, Seat Ateca 2.0 Diesel Turbo
July 18, 2024 at 5:14 pm #285202I think they switched production over early this year, so all new factory ordered Ionics should be the new model. I got told December for delivery.
July 20, 2024 at 12:16 am #285317Has anyone else noticed that the Ioniq 5 is NOT on Hyundai UKs motability page any more? Is this on purpose or are they no longer doing it on Motability?
https://www.hyundai.com/uk/en/offers/new-cars/motability.html
Edit: Just noticed its gone from my local dealer’s site as well. They’re def honouring my order, but its looking like they took it off motability!

looks to me like a real mess to me. Motability is still showing the ioniq 5 as being on the scheme. But now with the new AP’s.
But you cannot order any, as they are now with different tech packs. Went to see my dealer yesterday regarding my order. He seems to think that previous orders will transferred to the new model spec, that was ordered. As happened with motability orders for the Tuscan.
While we wait for motability and Hyundai agreed new AP’s and models for the scheme.
hope this is the case as the tech pack with my order does not now include the memory seats, it is now the Zen pack.
if someone ordered the namsan, and motability transferred this to the new one with the same spec, then this would be with the tech pack max with vision roof.
until motability allow dealers to order these new models, with the same spec, having previously placed an order, we will just have to wait.
Hope they sort it out soon, as my dealer has informed me there are a number of these currently being shipped, as shown on his system, with an expected delivery of September.
don’t really want to miss this initial shipment, as this would mean a new factory order, with an expected delivery of next year.
July 21, 2024 at 8:56 am #285360Its still there on both Hyundai’s Motability link and the Motability website car search
July 21, 2024 at 9:00 am #285361When i went to the dealer on thursday for a test drive,he found me a my25 ultimate tech currently at sea and due for delivery in august.
However it wouldn’t let him place the order for it and he had to order me the old model then said he will try his best to change my order and secure that car as it isn’t allocated to anyone yet.
Im not getting my hopes up lol,its a right shambles
July 21, 2024 at 9:45 am #285363If the 5 is as popular as the Tucson, which I believe it is, they will be stock piled at Tilbury, as they did with the Tucson facelift!
July 21, 2024 at 9:52 am #285364My dealer has informed me that, they are due two my25 models this week. One for demo, and the other for showroom. This happening at all other dealers, as shown by the memo he received
I don’t know if this is true but, he says that he has 15 orders pending on the system he has no control over allocation of these, it is all done by Hyundai,
with one customer waiting since April. So assume orders will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, depending on colour/spec/model ordered.
He thinks Hyundai will sort this out once delivery’s are in the showroom, followed by the allocation of stock to orders on the system
little point in having these cars on display and you can’t order one. With the next 1/4 sales targets in mind.
Now the question is, will motability have sorted it out by then, as to when and what spec we will be getting for our orders.
i can see us missing the initial allocation, once Hyundai start to release stock, if they can’t decide what model spec we will be getting.

Hyundai dealers don’t work on a agency basis, as the likes of Skoda who dealers are act as an agency model only for BEV’s.
Hyundai in the UK anyway, allocates cars to dealers rather than directly to customers. The allocation process is based on like’s sales volume and demand for each dealer. The dealer manages the distribution of cars and are able to allocate one thats a factory order, part built, on the ship, at the docks or in the dealer’s group stock, as long as no other dealer has sold it etc.
A carrier ship can carry from 2,500 upto around 8,000 cars, There is somewhere around 170 Hyundai dealerships in the UK. If every dealer had 15 i5’s on order thats 2,550 however, I believe the 5 is made in Ulsan S Korea rather than Europe but by Hyundai standards thats not a huge task given they have their own shipping!
I bet Hyundai do as they did with the new Tucson recently and create a stock pile.
July 21, 2024 at 11:04 am #285369I think this will be the case. Apparently there is a stockpile already at Tilbury. Just waiting for the lunch like the Tuscan
July 21, 2024 at 11:18 am #285371Who told you this?
Its either untrue or the dealers cannot see those cars until a certain point because on Thursday my local dealer showed me on his screen.
Theres some my25 at sea due for august in certain colours but all others would be factory orders

Hyundai/Kis are well known for intial stockpiling of new or facelifted models ready for the release date. However Hyundai hasn’t yet said how many cars will be available at launch other than they are gearing up for a significant launch!
The new Tucson launched in May I ordered middle June and tok delivery within a couple of weeks, Glos Guy and others that have ordered on more recently are still getting the same turn around times.
July 22, 2024 at 1:36 pm #285436Just been having a look at the specs Hyundai have published. I have a Ultimate+tech pack on order and it looks like the equivalent to that would be a 2525 Ultimate + tech max pack.
The Namsan looks like it would be and 2025 Ultimate + tech pack max + vision roof.
what’s interesting is both of these (when priced up in the configurator) are cheaper than the new N-Lins S trim which comes fully loaded (minus DSM but I don’t think you got these with recent Namsan orders).
Just a waiting game now but I got fingers crossed for an N-Line S

July 22, 2024 at 2:39 pm #285442Hopefully they will match like for like with what you have ordered.
I will not be happy with a less spec car which is what the ultimate is now. Having to add the packs to get the same as my order. Ultimate+tech pack.
As you say those that have ordered the namsan should get the tech pack max with vision roof.
