Ioniq 5 ordered – Dealership excellent !

      So 3/4 weeks ago I test drove an Ioniq 5. Called ten days later to see what lead time was if I chose to order. I know some feel we get a raw deal versus retail customers but I was amazed by their response.
      The Sales Manager happened to answer. I explained I wanted a RWD Premium and he said he had one arriving “within a few days”.
      I explained I couldn’t order until 29th but he said if I paid a £99 deposit it was mine and they’d put it in their secure compound until my swap over date (end of April). I know no deposit needed but not an unreasonable request for me given the circumstances.

      Well today I went and submitted my order. They even had the car there at the showroom for me to look around, have a sit in and play around with the infotainment. An extraordinary service!!

      Howards Hyundai in Yeovil if anyone is interested. Holly (sales) and Kieron (Manager) both a credit to their company.
      Just the three month wait now!

        I’m generally agains’t deposits, buut I don’t think anyone would argue at £99!

          Great stuff, congrats!

          I had a few conversations with Howards MG Yeovil last year, when I was looking at the HS. The couple of people at the dealership I spoke with were really helpful,. and super friendly.

          Just before I was going down to take a test drive, my mum said that she wanted to start driving again and didn’t like the size of it. Felt really bad, but they were absolutely fine once I explained what had transpired.

          I’m sure they’re used to it, but I never like wasting anyone’s time. I know how frustrated I get when it happens with my work 🙂

            Congrats.  Great choice in car?

             

            I can’t see anyone considering £99 deposit being unfair.  I had to stump up £1,000 which was a little bit of an eye opener but I’m getting £55k worth of car and would have to have find it 3 weeks later anyway and they weren’t buying cars through January.

            It also appears that most dealers in the area are asking for that level of commitment to process an order.  I’d be interested to see what they do for cars with small/nil APs

                  Same for me. I ordered an Ioniq 6 on the 19th Dec 2023, picked it up 26th Jan 2024. Absolutely no trouble from my local Hyundai dealership, Ryders Of Warrington, they were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble (Nice one Steve). Could have had the car sooner than the 26th Jan but that was my decision to pick it up on that date.

                  Could just be Hyundai customer Service working as it should.

                    To add another voice of praise for another Hyundai dealership – Hawkins Motors, Blackwater.

                    My order process has been really extended thanks to the DWP being rather stubborn around giving me the Higher rate mobility I deserve.  Throughout the process and several visits to look in/sit in and ask numerous questions about the 5, plus the Ariya (dealership has MG, Nissan, Citroen and Hyundai in the same building) and they were really happy to let me do my thing and answer questions.  I was honest about where I was in the process and I didn’t test drive anything until I knew the DWP were going to be forthcoming with the correct level of award.  I drove both the 5 and 6 and had the intention to order the 5 Ultimate with Tech Pack.  Just before I could order Hyundai kindly offered more including the Namsan Edition.  At the point of ordering we discussed availability and they offered the Namsan Edition sat in their other showroom, with a requirement to wait for them to have a replacement from the docks imminent.  Order placed and deposit paid.  Picked up on the 1st Feb and George, the salesman responsible for my order, came to collect me and sorted all the paperwork and took me around a detailed walk through of all I needed to know.

                    I still have a standing invitation to come back if I find anything I can’t do or can’t find something I need.

                    M outstanding customer service and I’m confident of that continuing into and beyond this lease.

                      I’ll add more praise to another Hyundai dealership!

                      I was treated with respect and nothing was to much trouble for them, when I ordered theTucson Ultimate. If anyone has forgot, you put petrol in it lol.

                        oh thats great, and yes the part leather interior makes a nice contrast now

                            Yes my Hyundai dealer in my village just wanted £100 to reserve a Kona electric coming in in 3 weeks last November
