So last time I ordered my car I did it over the phone with not being able to visit a dealership almost 3 years back. Do dealerships still take remote orders or is it back to dealer visits only?

It’s back to you having to go to a dealership and order now.
January 2, 2024 at 9:40 pm #253535Would make so much sense for people to have the option to order over the phone.
Not everyone finds it easy to go down and place an order in person (both physically and mentally).I wonder if they had issues after doing it remotely during Covid?
When I ordered mine it was just forms, which I could easily have done via email.January 2, 2024 at 9:56 pm #253538No i did a remote order recently in september. The dealer was too far away and only dealer who gave a £500 cashback. So i went to a local dealer did my test drive and then ordered from the dealer far away over the phone. You get an online link to sign.
January 2, 2024 at 10:33 pm #253544Some dealers will allow you to order over the phone and send a link with the relavent paperwork to sign and its sorted as if you were their in the showroom. I believe, because it falls under the distant selling regulations Motability don’t or nt a fan of doing it.
January 3, 2024 at 12:00 am #253549I did an email order on 30th Dec. Sent all my docs through dealer did the application.
January 3, 2024 at 9:25 am #253564I think Motability like you to have a test drive to make sure everything is right for you and a dealer I think it was MG was willing to bring a car to my address, you may know there is a Motability Exceptional Circumstances option where Motability will let you order from home and have Car delivered by dealer which many dealers do not know about but again you have to contact Motability as I did and I had order and delivery which was so good for me and less stress.

In October ordered my in-stock Kuga on the telephone.
Ford Epsom were fantastic through the entire process.
My last two Motability vehicles i’ve arranged over the telephone but in future i will definitely make sure that i go for a test drive because with hindsight i probably wouldn’t have chosen a Kuga if i’d test driven one.
January 3, 2024 at 6:46 pm #253703Mother getting a new car soon and I’m the named driver, she’s already on the scheme, has a car already. What does she need to take with her to order the car ? Motability website is a bit unclear, I’m not an appointee just the driver, I he website says passport etc she doesn’t have one
Never had any issues ever just wondering on this ? Is it new ? What’s your thoughts please
