They have yet to make it. I want something as good as the X1 but slightly smaller with less road noise.

February 1, 2021 at 4:47 pm #138434Would be nice to see the 3 series saloon back. The 2 series gc is on my shortlist but I think the 3 would sway it for me.

February 1, 2021 at 5:00 pm #138440
TheSUVGuyYeah weird that it’s been removed richard
Brian good choices, I mean it starts at £41k which is 2k less than some of the xc40 PHEVs on the scheme so you’ve got like 5% chance ?? would you pay a 5.5k AP + for it even if base version?
February 1, 2021 at 5:06 pm #138441
BrianHey SUVguy – easy choice. I couldn’t pay £5.5k, so I guess the answer is no!

February 1, 2021 at 10:47 pm #138488Very happy with the current Civic sport i have on the scheme and the ap was not to bad, compared to right now and I doubt in 2 & 1/2 years time, it will be still on the scheme and might be a hybrid or a full ev.
If that is the case maybe i may leave the scheme. but for now loving it, just finding an excuse to drive it is the only problem right now..
February 1, 2021 at 11:00 pm #138492There would need to be a hike in the arbitrary price caps to get the cars I would like to see on the scheme, which include;
BMW X3
Audi Q5
Discovery Sport
Range Rover Evoque
BMW 5 Series Touring
Some people may see these as excessive. I see them as mid range cars that all other leasing companies would offer. AP’s would need to reflect additional costs, although these cars retain a far better percentage of their new price than a great number of the cars we currently have. Ideally, the choice would include BMW X5, Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, Audi Q7 and Porsche Macan, but I have limited my wish list to the mid range models above, as these will doubtless raise enough eyebrows on their own ?
February 1, 2021 at 11:08 pm #138493
TheSUVGuyGlos guy these are excellent choices and as I said above to someone, the xc40 phev inscription pro costs more than some of the cars you’ve listed (yes the base model needs to be low but technically the xc40 phev is it’s own car compared to the normal xc40) so who knows, one day it’ll make sense for motability business wise to add these cars on the scheme even if it meant a 5k+ AP, it won’t be for everyone’s budget but as we all know having a disability still effects you if you’re wealthy etc
February 1, 2021 at 11:09 pm #138494
TheSUVGuyForgot to add, Glos, if you had to pick one of the cars you listed, what would you go for
February 1, 2021 at 11:19 pm #138496Forgot to add, Glos, if you had to pick one of the cars you listed, what would you go for
The only one I have actually owned is the 5 Series (had 3 of them, a 2.0 diesel, 3.0 petrol and 3.0 diesel) and I can honestly say that it was the best car I have ever had, or even driven. I don’t say that lightly, having driven literally hundreds of cars of most manufacturers over the years. I even preferred it to the BMW 7 Series I had at one time. The 520d was actually the one I liked most as it didn’t feel a lot less powerful in real world driving than the 3.0 versions, was near silent, sh*t off a shovel and yet returned 47mpg with ease. Very cheap to run as well. So my first choice would be the 5 Series Touring, but I fear that my wife may struggle to get in and out of it, which would probably push me to the X3. Drove an old model of those but it was an M Sport with ‘upgraded’ alloys and the ride was atrocious, so would need to test drive the new model first. I absolutely love the look of the RR Evoque and have driven 3 of them (on road and off road), but all the previous model. As with all LR/RR cars I found them to be peerless off road but compromised on road. Hopefully that’s now been improved. Q5 would be last just because the styling is very dull!
February 2, 2021 at 9:04 am #138507VW ID3 – because it seems to be the way forward.
VW Polo GTi – hits all the power/price/insurance restrictions for the scheme. However, it is said t be fun to drive and has the “GTi” suffix, this, it is the work of the devil and must be censored.
Mazda MX5 – as Polo, above, and, as Motability used to say “Not all members need wheelchairs”.
Is it REALLY so wantonly wicked and immoral to enjoy driving?
February 2, 2021 at 9:19 am #138509Anything from Subaru ‘Better where it matters’, have a soft spot for the Levorg, drives like it’s on rails, all wheel drive, looks fantastic and has a (albeit very thirsty) boxer engine.
February 2, 2021 at 9:24 am #138511Ford Tourneo Custom. The scheme has VW Transporter Shuttle and Peugeot Traveller and partners etc but no Ford. Surely Ford is the leader in the mid size van sector.

It is coming on in the next few days I believe, i’ve got prices here somewhere. I’ll try and dig them out for you.

That’s a good one. I’d forgotten about Subaru and I recall that they were on the scheme until a few years ago. My mother-in-law (country and farming type) had them for years and swore by them.
