pswoffFebruary 2, 2021 at 9:56 am #138526How about these? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invacar
If the decline in choice continues at its current pace (over 4000 cars 12 years ago to just 1600 now) then we could well be back to just one car in 10 years time, but sadly the Invacar is no longer produced so we may need to come up with a modern day equivalent ?
February 2, 2021 at 10:07 am #138530I’m pretty certain the Chinese manufacturers will dominate the Scheme in the coming years. MG will continue to add the other SAIC cars to their range.

February 2, 2021 at 10:15 am #138531For me, its not about a particular car, I just wish they would allow cars on in which the manufacturers have offered deals – like the XC60 of a few years ago, Volvo obviously wanted to shift stock/make sales, so we were offered a £45k+ car at minimal AP. Surely that makes sense for everyone, we get a better car, so we are happy. Volvo shifts the product its discounted so they are happy and Motability picks up a higher residual on a discounted product, so they are happy.
Of course, I forgot the Daily Fail who, of course, is never happy.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
February 2, 2021 at 10:30 am #138532@wmcforum- thanks for the heads up. By no means my dream car but I thought it strange it wasn’t on when the obvious competition was.
New Landrover Defender 110 seven seater or new Kia Serrento/Hyundai Santa Fe would be ideal without going overboard.

February 2, 2021 at 3:53 pm #138569@Glos Guy and @pswoff Invacar has been updated. Original top speed (82mph, alleged) judged too slow. New one has V8 with 320bhp so won’t make it on to scheme
February 2, 2021 at 4:02 pm #138571There again, the drop top only needs a smaller engine so might make it!

Paul LoveI’d like to see the Peugeot 508 back on. The price would allow it. That said, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one on the road. Seem rarer that hens teeth!

February 4, 2021 at 3:24 pm #138868Just seen VW ID6 in China, an EV that’s suitable for we scooter and wheelchair carriers.
Can’t help feeling it will have Range Rover prices though.I’m ordering new in 5 months so looks like if it did arrive at Motability it will be 2024 before I get the chance of an EV with 7 seats or 5 seats and extra bootspace.
