Many years ago I had a Mk2 1.6 Escort auto. Had a set of Vredstein M&S tyres for winter as I lived on top of a steep hill out in Kent countryside. Never let me down, always kept going even when neighbours’ 4x4s gave up. So have to agree with Mr HoneyMonster. That said, more recently had a Skoda Superb diesel 4×4. That also kept going in the white stuff even with “standard” tyres.
