I’ve done both, luckily when I lost my award moving from DLA to PIP I was in a position to buy something, then the last of the Yeti’s were being offered at a good price, 3 months up front and a large contribution from Skoda then £200 a month for 3yrs including maintenance.
Luckily I got my award back last December, I can’t find anything at the moment with my needs that matches Motability so (assuming I can still get the Tiguan) I’m coming back to Motability.
