In all fairness the dealers are only a third party retailler for a manufacturer and in speaking to my dealer they are just as much in the dark as we are.
When I spoke to the person in VWUK Executive Office she said I knew more than her about what is going on with VW. Its a case of total lack of communication and an utter disregard to their customers and think they are bigger than WLTP and to hell with the consequences. As the days go by and not seeing and VW additions to the ADAC list I am seriously considering probaly asking to extend my current vehicle for another 2 years and let this storm blow over.

The situation is looking bleak and I am beginning to wonder about VW. Their court case over dieselgate has been set and they stand to lose €28 Billion in compensation claims. So where will this leave VW.
Its sickening to see they applauded their workforce for working an extra 34 hours (not syre what timescale was over) so as to get a record number of cars sold in August and makes me think they’re mindset is totally wrong but I guess buisness like.
There is nothing coming from them at all. I think Chris has a good idea in waiting to see what comes up in the Q4 list and go from there.
Good luck with what you find Craig.

I lived in Bristol for 9 yearrs. I loved it down there. I am a southerner and I still have my carrot cruncher. I am originally from Oxon.
As for rocking the boat. Well it did not work with Alison Jones, Director VW UK. Just got the Executive Office to reply to me with that nonsense I mentioned in the earlier post. I do pass the same email on to Herbert Diess who is the CEO of VAG but not even an acknowledgement of my email. I have found this on the internet today and its an Interview some did with Herbert Diess and Bernd Osterloh who is Chairman of the General Works Council. This is a snippet of the interview.
Still no explanation there. I just cannot see how VW have got in this mess.

I am the one that posted about delivery of my Touran being an unconfirmed build date of week 2 2019. There are a couple of other guys on here ordered a Touran ChrisK and Craig. They both ordered around the same time as your parents and they have no idea either.
Now I ordered mine in August. Have you tried contacting VW through there webpage here. On there you also see a blue banner on the bottom right which will start Live Chat and ask them for an unconfirmed build week.
I am afraid that Motability hands are tied as regards to getting your parents vehicle any quicker. I wrote an email to the Director of VW UK asking for them to explain why we are having to put up with these delays. Someone rang me back and all I got out of them was sorry. I was not expecting any quicker delivery time but I was expecting a decent explanation, not “Sorry”. All I got out of it is that they are going to call me every 2 weeks with an update which is pointless as it is not going to make things any better. I do like the car so I am willing to wait.
So it is the case of either cancelling the order bearing there are a handful of cars that are in the same boat as VW. As for your deposit I would say you should get that back as they said a likely delivery time was September and they have not kept to that. I will say not all dealers ask for a deposit. I have had 7 Motability cars and not once have I been asked for a deposit.
I am not sure if you are aware the 1.4 engine is being replaced with the 1.5 TSi. It has the same power output but supposed to be more economical.
Wish you the best in what you decide.

On order Skoda Enyaq 85X Sportline PlusHi Guys
In my wisdom on Sunday night I thought I would drop an email to the Director of VW UK, as you do.
My main point of the email was to ask why is VW in turmoil over WLTP. I was not expecting them to get the car built any quicker because “that ain’t gonna ‘appen”. All I wanted was an explanation why are customers having to wait so long.
I got an email back yesterday morning stating although the Director does read all her emails she would not be the one to explain the situation. IThe email I got cane from VW Executive Office (a posh name thinking you got to the top). In the email it stated that someone will contact me within 48 hours to discuss this.
Well today at around 2pm I get a phone from the person who wrote the email. All I got from that call was that VW was very sorry and I will be updated weekly as regards to when the car will be built. Today I was quoted unconfirmed week 2.
They cannot even give an answer as to why we are waiting. In fact the person I spoke told me I was more knowledgeable of VW than she was.
What a waste of time tht was. Might try Germany next, but they will only blame Brexit.

It was just the Touran 2.0TDi DSG. Apparently dealers cannot take orders for the 2.0TDi DSG, I do not know the reason but it may have something to do with the upgrade to the MY2019 as on the 2018 it had the 6 speed auto and the 2019 will get the 7 speed. They have stopped production of the 2.0 TDi DSG (Touran that is) until at least week 51.

I would imagine it has something to with the gearbox, as on the 2018 model it had the 6 speed DSG like I have in my Sharan but the 2019 gets the 7 speed DSG whereas the 1.4 always had the 7 speed DSG.
I hope there is not a shortage of DSG’s which has happened in the past with VW

That is cracking news , at least the 1.5 TSi EVO 150 is going through in some shape of form. If it did’nt I would certainly question why not as it is one of the newer engines VW have produced. I think it was introduced mid 2016.
Now I hope I am reading too much in to this. If you go to the configurator and run it through the Touran they have removed both 2.0 TDi (150 & 190) DSG options. I spole to my dealer ever helpful about this and he said they are not able to order this variant as it will not start production till week 51. The last update I had from my dealer (god I sound like a druggy here) was that mine was unconfirmed build week was week 45, since then I have been on Live Chat and they qouted me an unconfirmed week 51.
I do hope that is not a coincidence.

Well what can I say about the wife using anything technical in the car? Put it this way, she would be best off with a Morris Minor split screen. I have only driving the car myself a couple of times and it has only been local.
As you say the Sat Nav does have traffic info built in and yes that is via TMC. For more traffic information for the built in Sat Nav you need to connect your phone via the Car Net app. That connection uses your phone as a hotspot and then the Sat Nav gets further traffic information via the internet just like on TomTom Go Mobile. You may have seen in the Spec for the Touran the listing of “Guide and Inform” well this runs through the Car Net app and its this that brings in the information.
I have still got to spend sometime playing about the infotainment system in the Golf so I will be up to speed with everything. As regards the Andoid/Google Auto that runs via USB. Apps available through Android/Google Auto are very limited and can be found Here. Now this is the same for MirrorLink, that also runs apps and are also limited and found Here.
What is needed is for either Android Auto or Mirror1link to support TomTom but nothing has happened with that yet as Android Auto will of course want you to use Google Maps. I have used Google maps a few times and this is where it is good in the VW. The voice control system in the Touran is disabled and it is a factory option to get it but it works with Android Auto without getting it fitted as an option. You can tell it to navigate virtually anywhere and it will find it and put the route in on Google Maps. So no need to mess around inputting info via keyboard.
Hope some of this helps but I will be messing around with it a little more and if I find out anything else I shall let you know.

As you have probably seen on the posts I have a Touran on order. There have been 3 pricelists issued for the Touran in the last 3 months.
I will say VW are useless and updating things, as we know they are always late in producing the Motability pricelist every quarter. Also talking of the Touran the new pricelist shows the 2018 and 2019 models and that states on the 2019 models that the 1.4 tsi will no longer be built in the Touran it will be the new 1.5 tsi so if you order one from the date of the pricelist (16/8/18) it will be a 1.5 tsi but when you go to the configurator on the website it still shows the 1.4 but they have removed the 2.0 tdi DSG as this engine/gearbox will not start production till week 51.
VW have a lot to learn from their involvement in dieselgate and to their lack of getting type approval for their vehicles. One would think they would be the first ones to get their vehicles through WLTP after dieselgate.
The thing is they know they have a mass market and they think they can do what they like.

Once you have downloaded one of the pricelist the VW WLTP list shows you will then see 2018 prices and 2019 prices, There is no difference in price but on the 2019 it shows the derivatives which are WLTP type approved.

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but I have tried the MyTomTom app on my wifes Golf (which has the same infotainment system as the Touran) and the app is not recognised with Android Auto. The only maps available are Google maps and the only third party app is Sygic. That is not to say it might come on at a later date.
There is a video on YouTube where someone had it working on a Toyota so there may be around it but I have yet to find that out. I myself use TomTom all the time.
