XHello everybody!
So I ordered my Vauxhall Corsa-e on December 28th.
Is there any way I can track my vehicle during the build / delivery process?
How and when do I get my VIN number and can this be used in any way to track my order?
Thanks in advance.

You might have better luck with a forum that has a Vauxhall Corsa section?

February 13, 2022 at 9:40 am #177106VIN numbers aren’t usually allocated until the vehicle is just about to be built. I haven’t ordered a brand new Vauxhall since the 1990’s, so I don’t know the specifics of how their system works, but the tracking number that you usually need is the one that the manufacturer allocates once the dealer is able to place the order with them.
This is different to any dealer order number or Motability order reference that you might have been given when you placed the order, as these are just admin references and do not mean that the vehicle has actually been ordered. Unless the dealer had available allocations for immediate use, it can sometimes take a few months before the dealer can actually place the order with the manufacturer. Until that happens, there is nothing to track as you are just in a waiting list with no actual order
February 13, 2022 at 10:29 am #177111The VIN is only allocated once the vehicle has a spot on the production process, usually a day or two before it starts it’s build journey through the plant.

No, because as several of us have said, unless Vauxhall do things differently, the car doesn’t have a VIN until it’s about to be built.

XOk, so how long from build date to delivery date?

If you mean how long from the date the car is actually built until you get delivery, it depends on where the car is built but is usually 2 to 3 weeks. If you mean how long from when you get a build date then it’s anybody’s guess. Build dates can (and do) change, often several times. Although build dates are always provisional (until around 2 weeks before the car is actually built), getting one at least means that the dealer has been able to place your order with the factory. Sometimes it can take several months just to get to that stage!

DumfriesDikX, why don’t you ask on Speak EV? They have an e-Corsa section and I’m sure you’ll have more success there.
It’s a very specific question you’re asking.February 13, 2022 at 11:18 pm #177269
