Vehicle Recall- Poor service from provider?

My vehicle has had a recall for work to be carried out, the work takes around four hours.  I was hoping that the Motability dealer could collect the car from my home, this option was turned down. I asked if a courtesy car could be provided, again this was turned down.

Am I expecting too much? or are all Motability dealers like this?

We had a courtesy car when it went in for a steering rack replacement.

I think the main issue here is, that it’s only a 4 hour appointment. It may not cross the threshold where they deem a courtesy car reasonable. When the Golf went in, it was four days (technically two, but over the weekend).

I’d probably even agree to an extent, for a four hour appointment. The fact that they’re not picking it up on the other hand is a bit naff. Before our Golf, we had a SEAT Ateca going in for an oil service – SEAT picked the car up here, and dropped it back off. They did say it’d cost us £10 (and i concur, they do need to send a guy 45 minutes each way plus fuel, so not unreasonable) – but never presented us with an invoice or anything, not sure if they billed MB for that.

Call the next closest dealership and see if they would accommodate a pick up/drop off – courtesy car for four hours is probably a pretty big ask (keeping in mind that particularly on a recall, there’s potentially hundreds of customers in line – can’t supply each of them a car for four hours).

Prior: SEAT Ateca Xcellence Lux 1.5 TSI DSG MY19, VW Golf GTE PHEV DSG MY23
        Current: Hyundai Ioniq 6 Ultimate
        Next: we'll see what's available in 2028.

I think you’re expecting too much , I’m sure you can organise a courtesy car with the dealership and I’m sure they’ll be happy to oblige , we might not be able to use our body’s properly but we can still function ..

            2. You cannot if special adaptation is required.  It has to go to Proximo.  Alternatively,  I think Motability would cover costs of taxi up to a certain amount.  It has to be approved in advance though.
