Update from my dealer, mine was supposed to be build week 14/15, now moved to build week 20. It’s currently week 24 and from what I can find they’re just starting to build week 14 now. So that could be a further 6 weeks before it’s even built plus 4-6 weeks shipping time. He also says it’s virtually impossible to get any information out of VW.
I really don’t want to cancel but I can’t keep the Yeti much longer, if I have to keep it 2-3 months it’ll need a set of tyres and they aren’t covered on the PCP lease so I don’t fancy that added expense as well. I’ll have to start looking around to see what’s available, Seat Ateca, Ford Kuga (expensive AP) or something else I can fit in to!.

Your in the same position I was in in 2018 with the WLTP saga and the VW Touran being one of the last VW cars to get its ticket to sale. Delivery time went from a long 5 months delivery time to 9 months.
I was prepared to wait 5 months and took that on board but then after 3 months being told it’s 9 was the last straw as I could no longer lift my scooter into the car nor would my wife’s knee hold out another 4 months on top of the 5.
I cancelled and got a KIA off the shelf but with corona everybody is in the same boat so not sure going elsewhere will work for you and the downside is I think the Tiguan is made in Mexico if I remember right and reading a few weeks ago that Mexico had not reached there peek with the virus so factories wont be flat out yet and is why VW can’t say anything because they don’t know.
It’s a hard call to cancel or not I know I’ve been there.

Yes, it’s not something I want to do, the car is excellent plus the £600 off the AP from JCT doesn’t hurt either!. The Allspace is currently built in Mexico, the standard 5 seater is Wolfsburg in Germany.
I love the Yeti but the extra extended leasing costs (higher payment + a service) and if I have to replace the tyres it could be a very expensive 2-3 months!.
I’m still waiting for Skoda/VW finance to reply to me about the last date I can extend the lease before it’s due to go back on the 27th.

@Phaedra I had another callback from my dealer yesterday, they mentioned my Tiggy order was build week 16, so are expecting my handover to be between 2 & 3 months time, but that build week pushback to 20 on your order seems odd.
I got the feeling that time frame is more guesswork than fact tho, as the VW chain of data & logistics information is also lacking for the dealers at the moment.

That’s pretty much what I’ve found, there’s no clear information coming out of VW.
I’m going to try and get out tomorrow, I’ll see if my nearest Seat dealer is open, the Ateca Xcellence Lux may be suitable if I can get in it, it’s 3cm lower then the Tiguan, but then again my Yeti is 4cm taller than it.
Other than that the only other option may be the new Kuga, I need the heated seats in the winter so that means the ST-Line X trim but at £2095 it’s £400 more than the Ateca or £1100 more than the Xcellence version.

If the heated seat is a big requirement why not buy a good heated seat cover for the car, which could be wired directly to the fuse box.

I must confess to going this weekend to look at a Ateca Excellence Lux with same engine and DSG box as Tiguan.
If we like it, and there’s one available in the dealers regional stock, we may cancel Tiguan as its to up in the air now.
We’ve been in an Ateca and test drove one and it was pipped by the Tiguan, but would be more then happy with an Ateca if it goes that way.

I’m in two minds, I emailed my local Seat dealer this afternoon, eventually got a reply saying “Why don’t you email your local dealer” ??? Obviously things must still be going via the dealers principal office.
I’m still waiting for a reply from Skoda for an exact price to extend the Yeti lease, I did look at a Karoq but the SE-L has a distinct lack of appeal compared to the Tiguan or Ateca. If I can get out tomorrow morning (meds permitting!) I’ll go over to the Seat dealer and see if anyone’s around. Not too keen on using them as they sold me on the new Qashqai when it came out in 2015, what a POS that was!, Motability agreed and I swapped it after 6 months for Kuga, much better 🙂

Just for info, Autoexpress says a facelift for the Alteca is being announced this month, Tiguan soon. Alteca is built by Skoda alongside the near identical Karoq so should be well made.

I was thinking about cancelling my allspace too as I have absolutely no idea when it will be built, I had build week 13 I think which was mid April but the Mexico factory now not opening until mid July so don’t think I’d get it until Oct, with the £600 discount from jct600, my gcb, the £50 insurance refund and the fact I got it at 2019 q4 prices, I’m only paying £299 for it so it’s hard to say whether I should wait or pay much more for something similar now
I’d hang in there as that’s a lot of car for 299.

Well, that’s a new one on me, a heated front screen camera.
What will they ‘heat’ next? Heated drop-down visor, heated door handles, heated spare tyre?
Hi guys I can’t work out if the excellence lux has anything the Tiguan R line tech doesn’t
John some would say a VW badge ? I’m on my third Golf but imho other cars on scheme are just as well made
The ateca has leather seats I think and possibly electrically adjusted front seats.
Just heard back from my nearest Seat dealer, they have an Ateca Xcellence Lux 1.6 diesel in Nevada White in stock, decisions decisions!!!

You get more kit then the Tiguan…and it’s in stock…in brainer….when its contract is up you can have the New design Tiguan.
I’m going later to see the dealer who has two Lux in stock.
99% sure we’ll have the Rhodium grey one. In essence its mechanically a Tiguan anywat, but get even more goodies on it!
Spoke to Motability, they can’t take a new order or change an existing one, not sure when they’ll be able to.
Still waiting for Skoda/VW leasing to get back to me with a price to extend the Yeti lease, ringing them is a waste of time, on hold for 45mins this morning.

Ateca Xcellence Lux
I have a golf with the mk7 1.6 tdi 110 engine but think is 115 psi now on 7.5 golf and it ain’t a bad engine imo better than the 1.5 petrol. i went away with my 3 bro’s last summer full loaded camping trip to breda in holland and it coped..
I guess only a test drive would tell if it’s ok for you in the Ateca if not..
when can they get a 150 2.ol would be my question. The 2.o Tsi 190 is awesome but fuel costs would be to much for the miles i do..
was one i looked at but no seat dealer near me so just to much hassle for services etc and my life..
would sort your issue of the yeti plus the Xcellence / Lux have adptive cruise which is great on a long journey or even in traffic.. as the car can brake for you keep a distance etc and is not avaliable on fr trim
