Our dealer carried out the MOT and changed tyres on the first car we had from them, but the second car they did an MOT on they advised us they were low but didn’t change them. You could ask your dealer to get authorisation from Motability and they may change them for you.

Most likely you will be told to go Krapfit, though I always uses their mobile service, as I find you get better service.

Your tyre looks like the its on or very close to the legal limit 3/4 the way across from the inner!

Thanks for the replies, the tyres are close if not onto wear indication level, tbh prefer Volvo to do everything whilst having the car..

Whats an average mileage for tyres these days under normal driving conditions..

I took my Peugeot 208 GT in for its second service a few months back. The Peugeot dealer rang me later that afternoon and said both front tyres were low on tread and needed replacing. They didn’t have them but ordered them in for delivery next day. I kept the loan car overnight & they rang lunchtime next day to say both new tyres fitted, ready to pick up!

Anything that meant I didn’t have to endure a trip to KrapFit was fine by me!

Yes I too would prefer a non trip to a tyre centre solent60, not because of any bad service, always been ok with puncture repair for me, no more like just prefer not going and the messing around involves tbh..

Im just going to mention the tread depth when it goes in, thing slow puncture in the rear too..

As others have said, KwickFit is the preferred tyre service for Motability, but they will allow dealers to do it if they are there or thereabouts to KwickFit’s price. I hate KwickFit. They are lazy in how they do things, such as levering off wheel badge centres, rather than pushing them off from behind as they should. Well over 2 years into our lease and I don’t have so much as a minor scratch on any of the four alloys, yet I know they would manage to scratch at least one. It always annoys me how they get the wheels so filthy as well and never wipe them off. Your tyre is down to the tread wear indicator though, so needs doing urgently.

As for mileages from tyres, how long is a piece of string? It varies enormously by tyre type, car and driving style. In my younger days, with a heavier right foot, I rarely got more than 10,000 mikes from tyres. Now I can often manage 30,000 miles ?

Seems there’s a lot of this lazy type worker about GG, shopping this morning in Waitrose asked if a certain product was available, reply no they haven’t come in, so asked another person, simply because I didn’t believe the 1st, hey presto two of the said items in the trolley..

Asking always worth a try, or two..

That’s very unusual for Waitrose. I usually find the staff there to be superb. They are having a bad time at the moment though (disastrous CEO) and I think that morale may have been hit.

Yes totally agree GG, this is the reason for my 2nd inquiry as it was most a very strange reaction and the staff very helpful always, Thanks for the info of the possible cause.

Hopefully a smooth and easy mot/service appointment at Volvo soon lol..
