John ReillyHi,
We picked our new Tucson up this week but wanted to ask other owners about the SatNav which seems to be doing rather strange things.
Quite a number of the landmarks/POI are either weirdly labelled or in the wrong places. As an example, our local church is incorrectly marked about 1 mile from where it should actually be. Our local supermarket (which is a huge Sainsburys) is not marked up but the small Argos inside it is. Indeed, Argos seems to have replaced Sainsburys everywhere on the map.
The latest software is installed and spoke to the dealer who saw and agreed it was behaving strangely but could not understand why. They suggested I contact Hyundai.
Any views welcome? Anyone else pick up these issues with the SatNav

Good Morning John.
I have had my Tucson Phev for about 4 weeks and have had no issues with the SatNav. Although I have not set it up with landmarks/POI . When I go out later today I will see what happens.
There is a Hyundai Tucson Forum UK you can go on to ask questions, someone may have come across the same problem.
Hope you are enjoying the car. I’m finding mine to be a good comfy car to drive. Any questions just ask.
Take Care.
April 22, 2022 at 11:32 am #183125Hi John. The fact the dealership saw the problem and told you there is nothing they can do and for you to contact Hyundai UK and open a case with them is total bollards. The dealership should be the one opening a case with Hyundai rather than fobbing you off. If it were me I would be contacting motability.
also worth checking on here https://www.hyundai-forums.com/forums/?msclkid=34eabca3c22611ec9389c1491787ff7c
Are you sure the latest software was installed correctly or could it have had a bug in it. Ive seen tis mentioned on the above site.
I will tri POI and landmarks on mine today as not used them yet.

JohnThank you both for the replies.
Before bringing the car to the dealership, I checked and the latest software was already in the car. However, they took the car and re-installed it , then took it for a test drive. They had it for about 3 hours.
I might give Motability a call and see what they say

JohnI would be very interested to know if Sainsburys is displayed as Argos in other Tuscons

I don’t have a Sainsburys near me but got to go out later, so will switch on POI’S and see if I have any issues and report back.
Defiantly make mobility aware as you should not be one chasing this with Hyundai UK,. Pure couldn’t be bothered dealership attitude.
April 22, 2022 at 8:15 pm #183187Made a point going past Argos and Tesco superstore which it picked up with no problems along with schools and petrol stations. It failed to pick up a fire station and a Tesco express was way out from its location on the map.
Did you speak to mb?
April 22, 2022 at 9:17 pm #183189
John ReillyHi
Yes i phoned MB, bit like getting passed from pillar to post. They said that the dealership should not have asked me to contact Hyundai directly but I could if I wanted! They told me to go back to the dealer as they should be resolving it.
I emailed the dealer with this information and they have not got back to me.
I have logged a case with Hyundai and they are apparently calling me tomorrow.
I also noticed today that the when you tick the ALL box to show the POI on guidance they do not appear immediately. I have to deselect them all and then reselect them to get it to work
Its so weird

Hi, yes it does have a few weird ways of working. I still can’t get use to having to press auto hold every time I get in it and if I forget it does not automatically apply the electronic parking brake when I turn off the engine.
Incidentally what average mpg are you getting.
Keep us informed what the dealer and Hyundai come back with and if your not happy with the outcome motability is your friend here.
April 22, 2022 at 11:49 pm #183196Not sure about the Satnav but I test drove the new Tucson (manual) recently and the clutch was really strange. It was very light but at the same time it felt like it was sticking at the bottom, almost like it was magnetic, it would stick for a second when you raise your foot before flying up. I tried a different Tucson and it was the same. I test drove the Kia Sportage which is supposed to be similar but the clutch was normal on that. Has anybody else experienced this?

both the Tuscon and Sportage have the same imt (electronic clutch) Not experienced the magnet part you describe but there not being a lot of resistance in it feeling light.
April 23, 2022 at 2:27 am #183201Thanks for your reply. That’s strange because they don’t feel similar at all. The difference is huge, I have no idea why but I could drive the Sportage without any issue, while the Tucson was very, very difficult; literally every single time I pressed the clutch I struggled to control it due to the issue I mentioned earlier.

Small correction here, IMT means “intelligent manual transmission”, IMT gearboxes don’t have clutch pedals. What you mean is clutch by wire. No idea whether or not the Tucson/Sportage have clutch by wire, but it has nothing to do with IMT. IMT is basically a manual transmission with a standard H pattern, but no clutch pedal. You just move the lever around, the car does the clutch stuff automagically.
