I appreciate it can be perceived as an off topic, yet some may rely on working dogs to help with their daily routine.

We are planning to travel to the Continent again, but this time I want to take my 8 stones dog with us. If anyone can share from their experience it will be truly appreciated.

 

I have already booked the vet on our way to the ferry and they confirmed dog’s vaccinations are OK and will issue us with the certificate.  Would be good to understand what to expect and do both in Dover and Calais… Anything else to be aware of.

 

We are going to Czech Republic with an overnight stop in Germany.  I have confirmed with a hotel in Czech Republic they are happy with our size of the dog.

Apart from that, we sadly don’t have a dog (yet), so.. Only thing i can say is that you may need to be careful in germany depending on the breed of dog.

Germany has Pitbulls, Staffords and Bull Terriers banned – that includes transit. Now there are exceptions for service dogs, but that requires extensive documentation.

Assuming that we’re talking about one of them, anyway – you didn’t specify, just wanted to point that out.

Thank you for calling it out. Ours is a Moscow Watchdog. Funny as it is, but he is an only one in the family with EU passport as he arrived from Poland before we left the EU.

Can’t help sorry, but what a lovely dog you have  – St Bernard cross and bet it eats more than you lol.

Maybe post on a motorhome forum. Folk on the forum take dogs overseas all the time. I used motorhomefun
