The deign model looks great value at £995 has everything I want sat nav keyless park assist etc and reading owner reviews 70 mpg if driven right yes I’ve called the cvt box in the past but I think I’d change my driving style to suit the gearbox I prefer economy over speed ! Was it a lower price in Q1 ?

I have one it’s a amazing car. I have the 1.2 awd excel model. Just over two years and 30k of miles done and still have a smile when I get into it. Only get about 35 miles to gallon but it is 4 wheel drive.
June 18, 2020 at 8:52 am #115427I’ve read the icon model with 17 inch wheels does 4 more mpg than the 18 inch wheel models all hybrid is this true ? Pity the icon doesn’t have folding mirrors sat nav heated seats park assist like the design model
June 18, 2020 at 10:24 am #115430Figures listed on the toyota site don’t suggest any difference between the 17″ and 18″ wheels to WLTP
I’d be intrested in the 2.0l now it’s available over the 1.8 but the AP is alot higher £1745 TOYOTA C-HR HATCHBACK 2.0 HYBRID DYNAMIC 5DR CVT sure the ap’s have gone up since i looked.. was a while ago
The hybrid system is different like on the corrolla 2.0l, Although with that the big problem is the battery is in the boot and i assume it is on this as well as the capacity is 358 not 378lt.
but you get do more hybrid range and power But it also has much high co2 and hydro carbons than the 1.8l
Electric Front Motor: Maximum output (kW) 53 /Electric Front Motor: Maximum output (kW) 80
Electric Front Motor: Maximum torque (Nm) 163 / Electric Front Motor: Maximum torque (Nm) 202
Hybrid vehicle battery: Type Lithium-ion Battery / Hybrid vehicle battery: Type Nickel Metal Battery
Hybrid vehicle battery: Number of modules 56 / Hybrid vehicle battery: Number of modules 180
Hybrid vehicle battery: Capacity Ah (hr) 3.6 / Hybrid vehicle battery: Capacity Ah (hr) 6.5Is it worth double the ap I’m not sure but does have over 60 more bhp and 8.2 secs 0-62 (mph) over 11 secs for the 1.8 and only around 4 or 5 less mpg
As for the cvt all autos have a flaw of some sort imo the cvt is some what flawed in how it’s designed to work, it don’t do steps which is what normal cars do when you change gear and we kind of used to, so you feel and hear it changing up a cvt don’t do that. it has only one gear like a go cart.. The gears can be simulated to act like steps but it’s a gimmic and not really handy to most in day to day driving..

June 18, 2020 at 1:11 pm #115450Any thanks JS I see it was £700 dearerin Q1 Chr design design 1.8 hybrid auto do I get £600 good condition bonus ?
June 18, 2020 at 1:20 pm #115451One of the neighbours has a new Toyota 1.8 corolla estate he say you have to change your driving style, he is on his 3rd Toyota hybrid he achieves an easy 70 + mpg, he say ease the throttle rather than push it.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.
June 18, 2020 at 1:28 pm #115453That’s great mpg I’m more interested in economy than speed

if you’ve completed the a full 3 years lease upon collection date and the your present vehicle is in good condition then yes you get the £600. At present don’t forget if you wanted the GCB up front Motability are still offering that at present,
