Dougie B<p style=”text-align: left;”>I’ve just had an ‘oil service in 600 miles’ indication come up.</p>
this will be my first service and my first encounter with VW other than the main dealer. So do the service department contact me, or do I contact them? - CreatorTopic

I would contact them, Dougie.
June 28, 2021 at 3:48 pm #156528You definitely need to contact them.
Not sure of the age of your Tiguan but mine had its first oil change and service at 2 years old. As this was stated by Motabiliity.

June 29, 2021 at 12:38 am #156565Hello Dougie and Other esteemed members of this fine forum ?
Your Tiguan will indeed be due its 1st Oil Service, if you give your dealer a call they’ll get you booked in no bother ??
My service indicator first reared it’s ugly head 1 year after collecting it during one of the 1st lockdowns, ( I turned it off using OBD11 )
When things calmed down a bit I got it booked in to Arnold Clark about 4 months later who said it would only take a couple of hours
Couple of days later they called to say there would be a control module that would need replaced under a recall ( possibly some other minor recall ) and they would check the rear spoiler as there has been some issues with cars built around the time of mines , so it would be in for a couple of days
Arnold Clark being Arnold Clark only have small courtesy cars like VW Polo and no Automatics! – Called Motability and got a hire car booked for a week which was delivered to the dealers the night before my appointment
Think it was a Nissan Quasimodo ( no idea how to spell the correct car )
Car was in for 2/3 days and the recalls were addressed along with the first year Oil Service
I’ve got a friend who has the same car, when she got her Service Indicator Notification she asked me to turn it off and she has not intention of getting it done ( non scheme and typical woman ( doesn’t listen to reason ) )
So if you want it done , just give them a call as they definitely won’t be chasing you for it lol

What car have you got?
it’s fab weather up here this week so I’m planning on going a few wee drives with the dog
roads to the highlands etc are pretty busy though with all the Invaders sorry I mean tourists up from England ?? oh and the tik tok brigade who now seem to drive a few hours to visit a beauty spot, leave their rubbish and make a 1 min video or 2 ??

Make melonade!June 29, 2021 at 2:04 pm #156626Didn’t Edinburgh Woollen Mills open their shops all over England so we wouldn’t have to bother travelling?
June 29, 2021 at 2:43 pm #156631I’ve got a BMW 220i active tourer auto, mineral white. Had it for 11 months now and thanks to COVID have only done 7000 miles. Love it, and will probably look to extend at end of three years.
