How ridiculous does this look?
All this can be yours and its only £70,000 but it does give a massive 257 miles on a “fool” sorry full charge.

The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.

Ridiculous in the extreme, Brydo. I just cannot understand why a car without a radiator has a radiator grill, especially one which looks like a giant mutant cheese-grater.
February 5, 2022 at 7:44 am #176164Not sure if the number plate improves things.
February 5, 2022 at 8:44 am #176168That grill looks like someone has photoshoped it. Its terrible, Transformer like even.

Totally agree.

ReneBecause cars without grille look as awful. That’s why the vast majority of EVs still have grilles (albeit generally smaller), and the ones that don’t, look out of place.
Of course that BMW grille looks awful, but to argue it’d look better without it is wrong.

That’s just as ugly. A big slab of nothing, the design just “stopped” there for a little bit.
Here’s the thing. The Kona still is the best affordable EV, and the BMW despite its grille is one of the, if not the best EV on the market currently full stop. Not even sure why we’re knocking the range of the base model, which is entirely in line with everything else in that price bracket/size like the EQC, Audi e-Tron etc. If you want long range in a big 4×4 SUV you take the (considerably more expensive) big motor iX, which then is entirely in line price wise with existing long range SUVs like the Model X, while having more range.
The front design might not be everyones cup of tea (well.. imho it’s probably not anyones cup of tea), doesn’t change the facts though.
February 5, 2022 at 11:01 am #176201At the other end of the scale, probably the best front end in the mainstream today.

If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

A car Mad Max would be proud of.

I’ve seen a few of these and every time I do I like the looks of it. Shame it’s out of my price range.
Current car 2022 Hyundai Kona premium in Jungle green.
February 5, 2022 at 2:50 pm #176254Same here but then most of the options are out of my budget right now. Really hoping things will improve over the next 6 months.

February 5, 2022 at 4:20 pm #176261“cars without grille look as awful”. Well, not all of them…

If Nissan could get it right decades ago, why can’t we get it right today?
February 5, 2022 at 7:38 pm #176289
WarkmanBecause that Nissan would not meet pedestrian impact laws.
the design of a car today has to meet many different impact requirements compared to then, head impact, leg impact, etc etc.
designs are being dictated by legislators, not car designers

Harry70k for 257 miles, Its ridiculous.
Also how long until EV’s are more expensiveto run that petrol cars? That will be far more expensive to buy and far more expensive to run, Il say 3 years? Great time to be a motorist!
