Sorry everyone

      I’m really sorry to bother you all good people,  I need help,  I’ve got a few questions,  any help would be very much appreciated.

      So I ordered a E-Traveller that had an AP of £2,499 at the time of ordering,  subsequently that AP was dropped to £1,499 after a day or two,  so the order form that the dealer & I signed has the lower AP of £1,499,  but on my Motab account it shows the higher AP of £2,499.  I had been chasing the dealer to cancel my order on Motab & reorder with the same code (because they were saying the reduced AP has the same code as my existing order,  but I was telling them they to cancel it & reorder with the same code for the new AP to be reflected on my Motab account),  which they said they’ll do,  but the E-Traveller was taken off the scheme completely before they had updated the AP on my Motab account,  so now will I have to pay the £2,499 or £1,499 (minus the Motab payments)?

      Is the order form signed by the dealer legally binding so that they have to provide the car at that price?  Is it a legally binding contract?  Does it supersede the AP figure on my Motab account?

      Look forward to hearing from you all.

      Thank you

        If it’s showing £1499 in your Motability online account everything should be ok.

          Thanks a lot for your reply,  kezo.

          Unfortunately,  it’s showing £2,499 on my Motability account,  but the order form signed by the dealer does reflect the lower £1,499 AP.

          Thank you

            That is so much luxury for a very reasonable Advance Payment. Are you upgrading to the second row Captain seats to top it all off?

              @wmcforum

              Sorry,  is it the £1,499 AP or the £2,499 AP that is very reasonable or both?

              Yes,  we did option the removable captain seats,  it was a £550 option (going to be increased to £750 now),  and includes an additional folding table in the centre.  We had also optioned the safety pack,  which includes adaptive cruise control,  front parking sensors & blind spot monitoring.

              It is the most suitable vehicle on the scheme for us,  but has a towing capacity of just 1t,  probably because of being massively underpowered for such a large vehicle with only a single 136hp/260Nm electric motor.

                Do you intend to tow with it? A caravan?

                  I would imagine the range would take a massive hit if towing a caravan but, guess it depends how far you go.

                    Unfortunately won’t be able to use it for towing because of the low towing limit.  Yes,  a caravan,  but it weighs slightly over 1.3t

                      @kezo

                      As it is,  the E-Traveller doesn’t have that great a range,  and you’re right;  with towing it would take a massive hit,  therefore it would be much worse.  And it would be a nightmare to keep having to charge it with the caravan in tow.

                      The Tourneo Custom was a really attractive option,  but it was unaffordable,  the dealer said someone had ordered PHEV top-of-the-range model on the scheme with an AP of £13k that week.  The Tourneo Custom has a towing capacity of 1.85t for PHEV,  2t for BEV & 2.5t for diesel.  Also,  you can’t get captain chairs even as an option on the Tourneo Custom,  and you don’t get any tables in the back,  standard or optional,  whilst with the E-Traveller you get 2 seatback folding tables as standard & an extra centre folding table with the optional captain chairs.

                      The dream would be to have the VW Multivan on the scheme,  that would be the most ideal vehicle,  but even if it did ever come onto the scheme,  it would most probably have an exceptionally high AP as do other VW vehicles nowadays & a lot of stuff is optional & too expensive.

                        @BearHardy

                        If you call Motability and explain the situation with the AP, confirm that the contract you signed with the dealer is for the lower AP, Motability will amend their system to show the lower AP on your Motability Account.

                          Thanks @Zero1

                          I guess we could give that a go
